This Memorial Day weekend, my family and I got the chance to go to Knott’s Berry Farm. You may be thinking to yourself, “Wow! How fun and perfectly normal and innocent!!” Nope. It all started with my mom waking me up bright and early on Saturday morning. She randomly asked me, “Hmm Kaila, how would you feel about going to Knott’s Berry Farm and Knott’s Soak City for a few days?” To be honest, I was quite shocked. 1.) Because I had just woken up so I was still processing everything. 2.) My mom never, and I mean NEVER, randomly thinks of fun surprises. NEVER.
But next thing you know, we’re on our way to Knott’s Berry Farm. As we were driving I remembered, “Wait a minute! Wasn’t Waian supposed to be going to Disneyland with her school for the 8th grade field trip?” Then, as I said that, both my mom and Waian turned to me sheepishly (at this moment I realized something was fishy). Waian said, “Well… mom forgot to pay for my ticket.” I had to hold in everything to not start laughing. Of course my mom would do that. Then, it all made sense. However, even though my mom is SUPER forgetful, hey, at least I got a free weekend at Knott’s Berry Farm because of it…
Here are tips for the people going to Knott’s Berry Farm and Knott’s Soak City for the first time:
- Avoid holiday weekends –or you should expect waiting in line for 3 hours for some of the popular rides. (They don’t always update how long the wait time is at the entrance, I recommend getting the Fast Lane Pass if possible)
- If you have a sweet tooth like me, you have to try the funnel cake!
- You can bring your own umbrella and beach chair to Soak City. They have nice grassy green areas.
